Vintage set of 2 opaline bedside table lamps in Scandinavian Danish style by Massive, 1950s. Also suitable for art deco enthusiasts. Both lamps match beautifully. The double lamp features a brass and teak base with a tubular lampshade in ribbed opaline glass. The single lamp is made of teak and copper, with a conical lampshade in ribbed opaline glass. The electrical components are outdated but work perfectly.
These lamps were most likely produced by Massive. Massive was a Belgian lamp manufacturer founded in 1926, which became a major multinational player in the lighting market by the 1980s. Acquired by Philips in 2008.
The condition is excellent with only minor signs of wear from a previous life. The plug of the double lamp has a chip, and the cord of the single lamp is insulated with electrical tape.
Ideal as a matching set of lamps for a nightstand.
Beautiful art deco style.
A piece of Belgian design history.
