BRUTALIST STOOL

Spain, 1950s

Brutalist stool in dark brown stained oak with 3 legs and green cushion with tassels in multicolored gold thread.

These North African traditional birthing chairs found their way to Spain where they were often used as a seating stool and decorative object in the 1950s.

The beautifully shaped holes on either side of the seat were originally intended as handles.
